i thought they intended to email out decisions to intls on monday?

they did send it out...Although u have to request for it.

oh.. did they send the entire letter? do you know how we gotta ask for it?

Just email uaoffice@princeton.edu.

In case you really want to read the defer email, here it is:

Dear (name):

The admissions committee has completed the Early Decision deliberations and has deferred a decision on your application until the spring. We had many more qualified early applicants than we had places, and we had to make some difficult choices in this exceptionally powerful pool. Your record of achievement was recognized and the committee appreciated the time, care and effort you put into your application.

Often a deferral means that the committee would like to see your senior year academic performance. Your application will be reconsidered in February and March with the entire applicant pool. Please be sure your counselor sends us the Mid-Year School Report as soon as your mid-year grades are complete. If you have additional information you would like us to review, please send it to us by the end of January. Please be aware that we expect as strong an applicant pool in Regular Decision as we had in this early round.

We realize this defer decision is disappointing news, especially since Princeton was your first choice. We look forward to evaluating your application again with the entire applicant pool.
Sincerely,

Janet Lavin Rapelye
Dean of Admission

just write them your bday, country and your name as spelled on the application and something like

Hello,

as an international, I understand that regular mail will take a few more days to arrive. I'd appreciate, if you could send me my decision via email.

Thanks,

xy

Guess that's enough and basicly what I wrote - received my decision the following day 1 hour after I had called and my regular mail arrived today...

All the same text.

thanks for the letter..

one more query- are intls required to submit midyear reports?

yup

everyone is - even those accepted.

i thought they were only for schools with an american system..

hi spacepirate,

you need to submit mid-year to pton even if u r from india, that "only US school systems" thing is for MIT, not princeton.

u dont have to, if u have already graduated.... ;)

Yeah, I applied to Pton as a gap year taker, and it's obvious that they just copy the deferral email to everyone, even those who have graduated, especially this part:
