Which AP science course should I take senior year?

I’m currently a high school junior. The schedule for my senior year looks like this:

  • AP Calc BC
  • AP Statistics
  • AP Physics E&M
  • AP Govt/AP Economics
  • AP English Language
  • Orchestra
  • PE

I’m not very worried about the first two: I’m doing very well in AP Calculus AB this year, so I feel prepared the BC class, and from previous experience, I know that the AP Statistics teacher is excellent. However, the addition of AP Physics on top of this makes me nervous, because it has a reputation at my school for being needlessly difficult with an extreme workload.

I’m strongly considering a major in Civil Engineering with a focus in Environmental Engineering. Would it make sense for me to switch out AP Physics with AP Environmental Science? (For context, I’ve already taken both AP Biology and AP Chemistry. Unfortunately, my school doesn’t offer an Honors Physics course).

I am currently taking calc bc and ap physics, and yeah, honestly it really is an extreme workload (at least at my school) but, time management is key! and don’t neglect one subject over another because it will catch up to you.

I would suggest taking ap physics c over environmental science…it’d be better to have a strong basis for your intended major. plus, your focus could change in college. nevertheless, take whichever one you feel you would learn the most in!

AP Lang or English 3 honors for junior year?

If you are going to engineering in college do not drop physics. If you feel like you have too many AP courses, drop stats.

Do need either AP Govt or AP Economics to graduate? Besides AP Stats, these would also be classes to downgrade before AP Physics C.

Is your Physics course only E&M? Or both Mechanics and E&M?
