Howdy,
I'm wondering which AP science to take next year. I like all 3 sciences equally (I'm gifted in neither, although I plan to go into medicine) and I am entering my junior year, so I need something less time sucking/easier?
Thanks!

Considering that you want to go into medicine, I suggest chemistry. Chemistry is probably the most important science in medicine and it’s really important to build a good foundation in chemistry in preparation for your future studies in medicine.

i kind of disagree with the post above. i took ap chem in junior yr and im taking ap bio in senior year. personally, i think it would have been SO much better to have taken bio last year for the following reasons:

easier to adjust to the workload

if your school offers an honors chem, take it. then take ap chem directly after it during senior yr. like 08 said, its really important to have a strong foundation. if u already took honors chem, then take it junior yr. but i dont advise skipping a level just to take AP chem in junior yr.

most of the juniors in my school took bio. i know this sounds superficial, but its good to be in courses with ur fellow juniors. u might find it easier to form study groups with ppl from ur grade that u already know

but golden rule take the course you feel stronger in-- and feel like you’ll do better on, the concepts you grasp faster itll make a difference when u have to deal with the workload

good luck!

I recommend AP Chemistry since it’s essential if you’re going into medicine.

You have some time before you go into medical school; there’s no need to pick chemistry over biology (or vise-versa) for that reason.

I personally like AP Chemistry a lot more than AP Biology (I’m in both right now). I don’t have to study for AP Chemistry because the questions can usually be reasoned through, whereas AP Biology is a ton of seemingly orderless memorization.

I recommend AP Bio. At my school, the study load is RIDICULOUS - to the point that most seniors do pretty poorly just because they get “senioritis.” They have the capability to do really well, but they don’t read the chapters and do the homework like they should.

At my school at least, AP biology is better suited towards juniors.

i’m in the same situation as you…
I think i’m going to take AP chem next year, and self study/online AP biology. Then i’ll take AP physics senior year, since its always good to have taken physics.

If your planning to go into medicine: take AP Bio, AP Chem, and maybe biotech if your school offers it. My school offers biotech and AP Bio together since half the labs done in biotech are required for AP Bio.
