Which AP scores to report on the Common App?

There are ten slots for AP/Subject Test Scores. If I will have three subject tests (all that I would like to report), that leaves seven slots for AP scores. I self studied quite a few subjects freshman/sophomore year and received some 5s. However, I got a 4 in AP U.S. history, a class that I took myself. I have enough 5s to fill up the remaining slots and then some, but would it be better if I reported the lower score from a class that I took to lessen the suspicion that I scored extremely poorly?

Basically, is it better to report a self-studied 5 (in, say, Microeconomics) or a class-taken 4 (United States History)?

I realize the question is probably trivial, so thanks for bearing with me.

I don’t think it really matters, since a 4 is already a great score. Idk, I would probably put down the 5 in this case.

the new common app has only 8 spots btw. it really doesn’t matter what you report, APs aren’t worth thinking about too deeply.

I would put all of your scores if they fit in the amount of spaces, regardless if they are 4s or 5s and self-study or in-class.

It asks for best scores. So if you have 5s (whether you took class or not) it is worth filling them will all 5 when you can. I do not know how one can falter you when there are only so many spaces for not providing a lower score when the app asks for best scores!!

Thanks for all the responses. I will go with the general consensus of writing down my highest scores. :)
