Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong board.
I am an incoming sophmore, and, due to scheduling conflicts, have a decision to make regarding my AP classes.
Here are the classes that I know I'm taking:
English (H)
Algebra 3/4 Trig (H)
AP World
AP Chem
Philosophy (at local city college)
Spanish 104 (at local city college)
Here is the problem: I was supposed to take Law, which I will have to take anyway at some point because it is required for this public policy program I'm in, but the only Law class is offered at the same time as the only AP chem class, and I know I'm taking AP chem. So, here are my options:
1. AP Bio. This is appealing, but I am concerend that this will be too hard, considering I am also taking AP chem with a rigorous schedule, and I don't know what sciences I will take Junior/Senior year if I take this now (I was planning to take AP Bio Junior and AP Physics Senior)
2.AP Environmental Science. I have heard that this is an easier class, my chem teacher calls it "ap light"
3.No class. I would get out at lunch and have two hours to study or whatever before cross country.
Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks!

I would recommend taking Bio if you can handle it, but if you don't feel comfortable with the workload Enviro would probably be better. As to having no class, I would definitely not recommend that choice. There will be plenty of time after AP tests to mess around and play cards in your AP classes. Just get through the year and then relax at the end.

I agree with champion1one; if you think you can handle it, it's probably best to take AP Bio. Having no class probably isn't a good idea, especially since it's only your sophomore year. If you want a lighter workload, AP Enviro is your best choice.

is there any "light" elective you're interested in? does it have to be an AP? I think 2 AP's are enough on top of your other classes and XC, imo.

I would recommend AP Environmental. Especially if you can take AP Bio next year, and then AP Physics senior year. Since you have honors, AP, and college classes already, APES would probably fit better than bio. And that way, you get all of the AP sciences :) But take which ever class that you think you would like best.

I found AP Enviro to be really interesting! (It was actually challenging at my school because I had a crazy hard teacher who gave a ton of work and tests...probably not the case at your school...)

Thanks to everyone for responding. I just got back from the school. I decided to take AP bio, but I have a counselor's appointment on wednesday, so I'll scope it out the first few days and then decide if I want to switch to Environmental.

Good luck whatever you choose!
