I’m mainly applying to Ivys and private schools like Swarthmore, Amherst, etc… I saw that a majority of them accept QuestBridge, Coalition, and the Common App… Which one would be best for someone who is only applying to am ajroity of elite colleges
majority*
I know this isn’t a great answer, but it really depends on what application will showcase you the best. The majority of people do use the Common App. My advice is to take a look at each application, and choose the one that suits you the most.
Yes, unless you’re accepted into the QB program (in which case: awesome! It’s great!), you should use Common App.
Common app is the way to go.
QB isn’t an application category – it’s a program with a certain number of partner schools that, if you’re accepted, conveys come great advantages. It’s has its own requirements (which mirror what the schools need) and earlier deadlines. It’s very competitive and the pgm is designed to link high achieving 1st gen applicants with certain top schools. Not all 8 Ivies are QB partners.
Unless you are matched under QB, you will need to use the Common or Coalition app to apply to other colleges. While many schools are accepting Coalition, not all do. Check again. As a rising senior, I’d say Common App is probably the most easy route.
Coalition better serves people who are still Fr, Soph or Juniors, if they decide to use its functions.
