which cell phone company?

My son will be starting at Harvard in the fall, and we want to get him a new cell phone plan. Which ones get the best reception in the Cambridge/Boston area?

I've asked the same question about MIT and been told that the best reception is with Verizon. I imagine it's the same for Harvard.

I have AT&T wireless (I think now it may be Cingular if the two joined) and I never had any problems. My roomate had T-Mobil and also never had problems (until they cut her service after she neglected to pay her phone bill for the fourth consecutive month... haha).

T-Mobile has a store in Harvard Square, as does Sprint. I have Cingular and it works fine. I used to have Verizon and it was fine too, but it was too expensive. I would recommend not getting Spring as my sister has it, and it does not have good reception in various locations. I've travelled all over the US with Cingular and Verizon, and both of them have had reception just about everywhere.

Hey! I have similar questions.

I have friends going to different Ivies and my gf is going to Columbia, how much would an all American plan, meaning I can call anywhere in America for free, be in my case? and which company would be a better choice for me.
