I am graduating in 2016 and will matriculate in either 2016 or 2017 depending whether or not I take a gap year. Would I still be allowed to take the old MCAT. I really don't want to have to study Psych/Socy and I do much worse on humanities based passages for ther VR section. I have searched the internet, but so far I have not been able to find an answer.

Best advice is to check with your premed advising committee, as they would have the most up to date and accurate information. I wouldn’t leave such an important issue to those who are not 100% familiar with today’s medical school admissions process (I’m a physician who graduated college in 1989).

AMCAS has issued guidelines regarding testing:

Unless you are prepared to take the MCAT no later than mid-Jan 2015*, you will not be able to take the current MCAT exam and will need to take the 2015 version. The current MCAT will not be offered after that date.

*Historically, AMCAS has offered 2 sittings for the MCAT in mid-January each year. However, the schedule for 2015 has not been posted.
