I'm gonna be a freshman this year in high school and I am deciding whether to take algebra 2 honors or orchestra. I started playing the viola in 5th grade, but I'm not that amazing at it. If I take orchestra, I have to take fewer AP/advanced classes. If I take quit orchestra, I can take both geometry adv and algebra 2 honors. This would allow me to take more AP/advanced classes. Do colleges prefer 4 years of orchestra or more AP/advanced classes. I am torn because I want to take more math/science classes in high school but I know colleges like extra curriculars. I don't plan on playing the viola after high school and I wanna major in the business/medical field. I really want to get into a top college and I'm worried that I won't be a "well rounded" student if I don't do orchestra. But I do plan on doing other school clubs. Orchestra gets to go on a huge trip every 3 years which would be fun. I cannot decide, please help!!

Don’t worry about doing things to take APs in the future. Just dabble in different areas to figure out what you are interested in while taking sufficient honors courses.
