Right now because of scheduling conflicts, I can only take either Multivariable Calculus or AP Physics B. I plan on majoring in engineering at hopefully a top tier school. Which course do you think I should drop and which one is more important to take? Which course would look better for college admissions? I've already completed AP Calculus BC, but have yet to take an AP science. Thanks in advance for the input.

AP Physics no need to get ahead in math without background in Physics.

I wish my school offered mutivariable calc! You have two great choices. I think some physics background might be more helpful if you go into engineering, but both would probably be great.

Go with AP Physics. While MV Calc would certainly be beneficial, having an AP science is almost essential if you want to be an engineer at a top school.

I’m with AP Physics as well. MV Calc seems like the icing on the cake, but physics is pretty essential.

I also second the recommendation to take AP Physics B.

As noted by others, you are already ahead of where most of your competitors (i.e., other students applying to those top engineering schools) are in math, since most of them will only be taking AP Calc AB or BC as seniors. Taking an AP science class will strengthen your application and certainly AP Physics will be useful for your intro engineering classes.

Thanks for the responses. I’m currently trying to add ap stat in place of mv calc. But if stat won’t fit in my schedule, wouldnit he bad if I didn’t take any math class at all?

@ Poseidenj- lol, sick comic, although I’d have to say that taking an AP science would benefit the OP more than multivar. It wouldn’t look too good if you didn’t have any math classes senior year, though.

phlpsun, although it is pretty important that you do take physics, I would try to squeeze in math somehow. If you can’t take a math class during your school day, try taking a math course at a local community college.

my suggestions is for ap physics. it will help you in your major

yeah i think ap physics is the best for you right now in ur situation, mv calc isnt as important
