I graduated high school in 2010, I went to a technical college in the fall of that year, I only took 2 classes because I thought I was going to transfer into a film school that I got into out of state. However, I decided not to go because it was WAY expensive plus it was in LA which is almost 3,000 miles away. I passed one class, and failed the other which was math. So I pretty much took a break from school for 1 year and 6 months off to get a break, to save money, and wondering what I wanted to do. At the same time was going through anxiety/depression personal issues too. During that time I was working as a cashier saving my money to move out of my parents house (which is still a working progress.) But I will be moving in with my sister soon. Anyways I went back to school in 2012 at the same technical college for the fall and I had to take Learning Support Classes, since I've done badly on the placement test. So I had to past and test out of 3 classes math, english, and reading. I've already pass the class and tested out of English & Reading early last year. Currently I'm finishing up my math and hopefully to test out of it this semester, because Math had always been a MAJOR struggle. Plus having ADD doesn't help either.

At the technical college I'm on the TV Production degree program which takes generally 2 years to complete. Back in 2010 and during high school when I was taking Broadcast Video Production I wanted to be be a camera operator for TV/Film, but now I pretty much lost interest of it idk why though. However when I was a high school student and making segments for the school TV show, I found it really cool and fun and interesting interviewing people on a subject for my projects. I discovered that I really like interviewing people, though ironically I have social anxiety but its moderate not too severe.

I don't have a lot of interest in careers, I've looked at books about careers to choose from, either I am totally not interested in or some of the ones I was interested in I don't have the skills or natural/talent ability to be a success in that career field. The only careers that I'm interested in where I wouldn't care about money would be in the entertainment industry.

Career wise I would like to be either an interviewer for actors, musicians, etc for a small entertainment company (like what you see on yahoo media) those small agencies that interview celebrities on camera and the interviewers AREN'T famous or a career that reports entertainment news. Or give the public information on entertainment news on the radio or being a receptionist at a radio/TV studio. Or work for an LGBT news/entertainment network. So thats my idea of the career I want, I just don't really know how to get there.

The confusing thing is that I'm not a good college student and college isn't for everyone, but I understand that a college education is important if you want to become more successful. I want to be successful.

Another confusing part is that you have people that go to college and are totally doing a different thing, for example, you have people who have a degree in English or Business or Political Science yet, they are Radio Personalities or TV Anchors or Actors/Actresses. It's VERY ironic.
Also lets just say that I want to be a interviewer for celebrities, I would need a Bachelors degree in Journalism or Mass Communications. It just feels weird that most of my high school classmates are graduating college this year, and I'm left far behind. If I do get a Bachelors degree with me graduating maybe at age 26-27 and thats late to me. Plus to intern I would be almost 30 years old.

So Im wondering, if I want to be an interviewer or report news on a radio show with radio personalities, should I go ahead and continue the TV Production program that is only for 2 years or go to school for 5 years to get a Bachelors in Journalism or Communications?

If I do get a degree in the TV production program at the technical college I could intern at a small TV studio or I can intern at a radio station and learn and work my way up, I wouldn't have a bachelors degree, but I would still have a completed 2 year degree in TV.
Plus I've taken video production classes when I was in high school and still kept all of my notes from high school for future reference.
Plus if I do continue on the Associate Degree program for TV production instead of transferring to a university it would save me a copious amount of money and student loans, plus time.

It's just I'm getting older though, I'm only 22 about to turn 23 we're getting older not younger. I just would like to have a career young and to be out of college.
I know how unstable the entertainment industry and if people don't think its a real career move I don't know what to tell them I have no interest in anything else its just is and like I said there is some career that are cool but I don't posses the skill that. The only thing I could think of is Human Resources but you have to be very smart to do that, I guess HR assistant might be a start other than that I don't have anything else if you can understand that.
