Which college/major to apply to?

Since no one answered this on the Northeastern Forum, I'm posting this here. If anyone has other suggestions as to where I can post this please tell me!

Hello all, I am interested in applying to Northeastern (early action!) but I am in a pickle. I am interested in studying Biomedical Physics and Chemical Engineering there, but I don't know which specific major to apply to. Does anybody know if it is even possible to double major these two? And also, if I was accepted would I be able to talk to an advisor about a possible schedule?

I am mostly interested in Biomedical Engineering, but I feel like the minor offered at Northeastern doesn't really fit my needs. Would a major in ChemE and minor in BME allow me to work in the BME field? Can anyone offer information on the BME minor?

Thanks in advance!

Bump! Please!

Why don’t you call and ask them? They are probably better equipped to answer than any of us.

Start with ChemE. You will definitely have to take plenty of physics for that major and you will sort out very quickly if you want to continue pursuing physics, engineering or even BME. It is unlikely that you will work in BME with just an BS. So much will happen between now and college graduation that it is best to pick the broadest major and see how your plans mature.
