Which colleges are notorious for focusing almost entirely on objective or subjective stats?

Which colleges are known for focusing too much on objective statistics (SAT, GPA, etc.) and not enough on ECs, awards, etc., and which colleges are known for evaluating their applicants in the reverse manner?

I don’t think there are colleges that evaluate in the “reverse manner.” Colleges will look at your academics first. Some will focus mainly on those academic stats, and some will then move to a more “holistic review.”

Your question should be reversed. About 85% of US colleges solely look at the metrics you’ve mentioned and give zero consideration to ECs and awards. An easy way to find this out is to look at each school’s “common data set” section C. All are easily found via google/bing

Subjective stats can tip the balance in a particular student’s favor in cases where objective stats are more or less equal to another student’s.

Canadian universities admit almost exclusively by the numbers: SAT/ACT and UW GPA.

Open admission community colleges are numerous, and require neither for admission. :)

Among selective colleges, academic criteria of grades, rank, and/or test scores are the primary factors for admission. It is mainly at the more selective colleges that other factors become more important.

Many state universities, including flagships, admit on numbers or primarily on numbers.
