which colleges do not require freshman housing?

I know a lot of you will say " you are missing on the college experience " or " its a good way to get involved" or something along those lines, but I can not dorm in college for multiple reasons (did the math and its more expensive than getting an apartment with my sister, I like the college but do not like the campus, etc.). I would rather live with my sister who will be in college two years after me (and a close friend of mine will also be joining) and that makes it so much cheaper, also considering that my parents are paying for 90%-100% of my bills. I also plan on keeping the apartment if I am admitted into a medical school nearby.

I know American University does not require any students to live on campus, so if you know any other universities with the same policies, please help me out.

I am very confused. You are expecting your sister and friend to go to the same school as you do, but you don’t know what school that is and you are going to pick it based upon housing policy?

FYI, there is 3,000+ colleges in the US. Many of them don’t require you to live in their housing.

Most colleges do not require frosh to live on campus, or only require them to live on campus if they are traditional students right out of high school outside of some commutable distance. Check each college’s housing web site to see if there is any such requirement.
