I'm wondering if there's a college that's has a large liberal population, low percentage of students practicing religion, good teaching, and has a "hipster" feel (not a 'stoner' school though).

Don't worry about any other factors like tuition, city size, school size or anything like that; I'm just looking for colleges that fit the above characteristics for now.

btw I know there are some other threads that ask about some of these individual characteristics, but I have yet to find a thread that addresses colleges that have all of those qualities.

OK - you’re liberal, non-religious, a hipster but not a stoner, and you’re not interested in interacting with anyone who’s different from that. Sounds like you’re a finished product - no need in going to college just to reinforce what you are.

Or . . . you could spend four years interacting with diversity and difference - the same kind of diversity and difference that characterizes the world as a whole. It’s something to think about.

But I can recommend no school more to you than Bard. I visited and saw a girl go to a casual lunch wearing a tie-dye wedding gown and a bunny ear hat.

Not fair, gadad. There’s no reason why an 18 year old leaving home for the first time shouldn’t look for a school with a culture that is comfortable. There are many years ahead when OP can throw him or herself into cultures that are outside of their comfort zone. It doesn’t have to happen first time out the gate. No doubt there will be plenty of students even at ‘perfect fit university’ who push OP’s boundaries. And if OP is looking at LACs, especially rural LACs, then finding one that feels right isn’t narrow-minded - it’s the intelligent thing to do.
