i really wish i hadn't read that!!!

why not, I was just kidding. some things shouldn`t be taken serious.

i didn't take it too seriosly.

here's a question, would cuba look any different after castro croaked??

Yes.

But it's like one man said: "children get used to the sound of bombs in countries at war"
People get used to not having democratic freedoms.

Anyway, the question:

France for sure: st. tropez, nice, provence
Canada
Hong Kong
Corisca (Italy)

HK is amazing.

Overly crowded, but amazing.

I think, people in cuba, don
t complain about their situation( I don
t know if this is dealing with getting used the situation). actually, cuba is a well governed country, though the embargos make them isolated.

"well governed"
soooo you call living on the edge of poverty, with no hope for a better future, good?!? See, my concept of "well governmed" means the government takes into account the people's needs and acts in ways that are best for them. Yes Castro has a tight hold on currency, so much so that foreign tourists use a different currency, and Cuban natives are barely able to get by. Cubans have to rely on monthy checks from their relatives in Florida or other parts of the U.S. just to buy food for their children and the clothes on their backs. The Cuban government has been accused of numerous human rights abuses, including torture, arbitrary imprisonment, unfair trials, and extra-judicial executions. Dissidents complain of harassment and torture. While the Cuban Government placed a moratorium on capital punishment in 2001, it made an exception for perpetrators of an armed hijacking 2 years later. Groups like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have issued reports on Cuban prisoners of conscience. The Cuban government denies the International Committee of the Red Cross access to its prisons and many human rights groups including Amnesty International are denied entry to Cuba.

"governed" yes, Cuba is "governed" all right.

well... human rights violations happen in every countries(doesn`t it also happen in Iraq under the control of the US?), this is not a special case for cuba. the reality is, this subject is highly exaggerated against cuba for the american propoganda purposes. regarding poverty, I agree with this, but at least they have access to free education and health services.

the main theme is cuba is not the hell.

I agree, every good little American boy and girl is taught to hate Communism (if you can call it that in Cuba) and its proponents with a vengeance.

Human rights violations do happen, but not "everywhere," nor should that serve as an excuse for them.

Access to free eduction and health services? Well, I wouldn't be so enthusiastic about that. Education's great, but what good is it doing the citizens of that country? They can never progress past their dirty-poor surroundings. Education is meant to guide an individual to a higher level of thinking.

Cuba is hell, have you been there in June?

Japan has culture other than panty-dispensing machines, self-inflicted suicide, hentai, and sushi?!?!? Wow. That's news to me.

Greece and Italy (more specifically Greece, but they could go nicely together)... I loooove ancient Greek and Roman history so maybe a study abroad program if I decide to major in classics.

Other than that, England just because when I was 8 my goal in life was "to become british" like the Spice Girls... Austrailia just because it seems gorgeous and I love their accents...and on a less touristy note, any poor country that I could do work in and actually make a teeny bit of difference in the world.
