Which course load should I chose?

So my senior year (this year) I chose to take AP French, AP Bio, AP Physics C, AP Lang, Multivariable, and AP Comp Sci for my rigorous classes (the only other is Advanced Web Design honors). But there is a scheduling conflict with AP Physics, AP French, and AP Comp Sci. My situation is that I have to choose 2 out of the three. I could opt to take all three but take AP Comp Sci online but I already know the teacher and really want to take her class. So I decided that I will drop AP French because I wasn’t too sure I wanted to take it anyways.
So my option now is that I can either take another AP instead of AP French, which would have to be AP Gov because that is the only one available left. OR I can take Robotics first semester and Advanced Robotics second semester. I really like the robotics option because I want to major in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering in college but our robotics teacher (who was really really good) just transferred to another school and now a brand new teacher is teaching it. This makes me very undecided on which option I should choose.

What are your thoughts?
Thanks!

How many years of foreign language do you have? If you don’t have at least 3 yet, I would recommend taking French.

I have three years of french. I’m leaning towards robotics now but would colleges think that I’m slacking off by taking a non-honors class like that?

@bomantron No lol

No it’s good to take electives

Take the robotics classes and your Senior schedule is challenging without AP French.

Take Robotics. Your schedule is already extremely demanding and Robotics isn’t for sloths :-):slight_smile: However it’s too bad for AP French since it’d hav surely waived your foreign language requirement for college graduation .

I ended up choosing to take robotics but I’m kinda worried since it’s a regulars class it’ll drag down my GPA a bit

The effect on a 4-year GPA is likely to be negligible and it likely will not be the deciding factor in the admissions process.

Adcoms don’t care about minute differences as long as you’re in the top 10% / or the top 25% f your class (depending on the type of university you’re aiming for).
