Which courses will count for AP credit?

Hey all, I narrowed down my college choices and Northeastern is one of my top choices. If you could help me and see if the APs I've taken/took count for GE credit, or any credit at all, and which ones I would be better off not taking, that would be great.

I'm in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities and my major is Sociology.

I've taken:

Music Theory - 3
Psychology - 5
Chemistry - 4
Chinese - 5

This year I've signed up to take...

US Government
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics
Environmental Science
Statistics
English Literature
US History
Comparative Government

Just select AP credit for institution.

…8 APs in one year??

General rule of thumb: you will get credit for most tests where you get above a 3.
BUT this doesn’t always mean you should skip out of that class. For example, a science major who gets a 4 on chem might not want to skip out of intro chem because they might not be well prepared for what comes after. In your case, the one you might want to be most cautious about skipping is psych, but it’s up to you and what your confidence level in the material is.

Northeastern limits the number of ap credits they give you to 32.

Yes, the number of credits is limited to 32, but you can still use them to fulfill requirements even if you don’t get credit for them beyond that.

Does a ‘5’ on AP English Language Exam give you credit for ENGW 1111 ?

Yes a 5 on ap english language or lit gives you 4 credits and no engw 1111 - 5’s on both gives you 8 credits and no engw1111
