Which CSU for Business Administration?

Hello!

So I’m almost ready to transfer out of Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, California, to complete my bachelors in Business Administration. My first choice will be to transfer to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. If I don’t get in I need another option as a back up plan. I’m an older student so moving away is not an option. I’m considering other online schools such as CSU East Bay or Channel Islands CSU. Cuesta College is affiliated with Columbia College which is online only and is based out of Missouri, so that may be an option also though for some reason I want to attend a CSU.

Any thoughts, insight, or advice?

Thank you!

Why a CSU? They are a known quantity for employers throughout the West. They are all accredited and most have decent on-campus career centers with recruiting. At $7k/yr for tuition, they are a bargain.

It is virtually impossible for an employer to assess the quality of the education delivered by an on-line school from Missouri.

Sorry about the delay on the reply!

I’m definitely going for CPSLO. I agree that the CSU accreditation is widely known and the prices are generally very reasonable compared to other universities.

Incidentally, I have another question regarding the application process to CPSLO. I’m almost done with my application, though I’m kind of hung up on the part where they ask about estimated hours worked per week and estimated extracurricular activities per week in the last 12 months. I work part time and I do odd jobs for extra cash. I don’t make much at all, and my W2 isn’t going to have much more than $3,000 on it for the entire year. I’m mainly concerned about me stating that I work 11-15 hours per week but only made $3,000 for the year.

Do they look closely at these figures? Should I raise the yearly amount that I make above what my W2 will state to make it more in proportion to the hours I work?

I also volunteer about 11-15 hours per week tutoring students and helping cancer patients at a local cancer treatment facility.

I’m done with all of my major requirements and I only have 2 general classes to take in the spring semester to get my AS-T.

My GPA is 3.75

what does that mean? Does that mean that you must commute? Which schools are within commuting distance?

CPSLO is the only school that is within commuting distance (30 minute drive from where I live). The other CSUs are hours away and I can’t see making that work with my schedule.

If I don’t get accepted to CPSLO I will probably have to consider an online CSU such as CSU Eastbay or CSU Channel Islands.

Naturally, CPSLO is my first choice.
