WHICH DEGREE for PSYCHOLOGY? BA? BS? MD? Ph. D? Psyc. D?

And should I be looking at med programs?

I'm leaning towards doing psychological research, but I wouldn't mind counseling either.

if you're interested in social psychology, therapy, or even clinical psychology, you really don't need to go into medicine. only if you are interested in psychiatry and would like to prescribe meds, treating patients from a more neurobiological perspective, is the MD degree necessary.

definitely if you want to do psychological research, a PhD seems right. In any case, I think you would benefit from a traditional 4 year undergrad so that you can become exposed more to the flavor of psychology that suits you best. You do not need to be committing yourself to anything yet.
