Which division of biology would help me the most with the MCAT and medicine in genera

Hi there, I am going to be a freshman next year in college and I was wondering what "subsection" of biology I should major in.
For example, would general Biological Sciences help the most-or something such as Biochemistry and molecular biology?
Please list other options if you know any

Doesn’t matter.

The MCAT only tests intro bio stuff anyway, though courses in genetics and physiology may be helpful.

As for medicine, that’s what they teach you in medical school.

Literature.

Not kidding.

Yeah, actually rainbow is right. A few English courses would help more than anything else. The MCAT (including all science sections/passages) relies heavily on verbal and reading ability.

D. mentioned that actually studying for specific sections has helped her to improve that specific score on Practice tests, I mean studying Orgo and more so Bio helped her to get higher score for Bio section. In D’s case reading literature (which she hates anyway) will not improve her Bio score. Her verbal score has always been her lowest in any tests starting in elementary school, and she excpects it to be lowest in MCAT and there is no way for her to improve it. Physical Science section seems to be easiest. It apparently depends on person.

I believe practicing the reading section will still help tremendously for the bio and physical science sections, since most people have problem not with the material, but the comprehension of the problems.
