Which Field?

So I am searching and searching and have narrowed down my interests.

I am interested in extracting oil, natural gas, and working on alt. energy. Mostly extraction, i would like to be able to understand the process work on improving it, and perhaps safer methods.

I also have interest in the automotive industry, working on engines, brakes, etc, safety testing, and improving the cars.

Finally, interest also lies in tissue engineering, stem cells, etc. I would love to find a place that does stuff like developing heart valves, or new organs and drugs for the people in need.

So basically I told my counselor this, and she said possible majors: Bioengineering, Chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or materials engineering.

So which field?

Chem Eng is in general the best paying field, and theres also more scope with the issue of developing alternate fuel. Also some schools offer chemical engineering with material science aswell, so that nails 2 of your 4 possible fields. I wouldn’t do material alone, cos I talked to this material science grad student at UCLA, what he told me was its really interesting and all, but with an undergrad degree u can’t really get jobs, you’d have to go and do a masters in it too. As for mechanical and electrical, there’s always the option of mechatronics?

School I go to, all those majors are separate.

and, bump anymore considerations?
