Which has the best Bioengineering program: Duke, Johns Hopkins, MIT, and UPenn??

I recently got admitted into Duke, Johns Hopkins, MIT, and UPenn. All of these are amazing schools that have particularly strong programs in my intended major, Bioengineering, so I am really struggling in making a decision.

As of right now when I say bioengineering I am referring less to biomechanical studies and more towards things like tissue engineering, protein engineering, biomolecular studies, or biochemistry. Also, I am not interested in doing a pre-med program through this major, as I will probably be going into industry or doing research instead of going to medical school. Keeping these things in mind can anyone help me by giving some advice on the advantages one school might offer over another? Thank you!

Congratulations!! You hit the lottery it seems… :). Seriously, you have all fabulous choices, at this point, if finances are equal – I would base the decision on FIT. Of the schools you list, MIT has the biggest “name” so to speak BUT if you are not happy with the culture/weather etc … it will be a miserable 4 years.

Best of luck in your decision making – you really can’t go wrong at any of these… so enjoy!

MIT. It is in an amazing academic and biotech industry hub. There are a number of biotech companies as neighbors. We have opportunities to collaborate with Harvard. We have the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, the Broad Institute, the Whitehead Institute, just to name a few. See you there
