Which is a better case scenario in an AP Class?

So my friends and I have been debating over which is better:

-Getting an A in an AP Class but a 4 on the AP

-Getting a B+ in an AP Class but a 5 on the AP

What are your opinions?

You do not have to submit your AP test scores to colleges, but you DO have to submit your grades.

Grades trump AP scores since some colleges do not accept AP credit for major prep classes. Also your HS course rigor is considered Very Important for the majority of top colleges so doing well academically looks better on the transcript. Also some schools do not consider +/- so that B+ would be a B for some schools.

Better for what? For colleges that are highly selective, the grade is more important than the exam score for admissions purposes, but the 5 might give credit assuming you got into the college. The solution: Get an A in the course and a 5 on the exam.

An A in the course and a 5 on the test.

The grade is more important at most colleges for frosh admission. The test score is what matters if the college may give advanced placement.

Grades are important for admission, test scores are important for credit.
Look at colleges of interest and see if you get credit with a 4. I think most do. (it is basically a B)
