Which is best, UMICH,UIUC,or Uwisconsinmadison?

Academically, you cannot go wrong. All three are excellent. Michigan is the most prestigious, closely followed by Wisconsin. UIUC is the weakest RELATIVELY speaking...but all three are highly regarded.

For Political Science, Michigan is arguably #1 nationally and certainly the best of the three you mention. However, Wisconsin also has a highly regarded Political Science program.

In terms of sending students to top Law school, Michigan is actually quite good. Last year, Michigan sent 110 students to the top 7 (Yale, Harvard, Michigan, Columbia, Stanford, Chicago and NYU) Law schools in the nation and another 40 or so to the next 7 (Penn, UVA, Cornell, Georgetown, Duke, Cal and Northwestern) Law schools. Wisconsin and Illinois do a good job of placing theur undergrads into top law schools too.

If you want a fun atmosphere, great social opportunities and awesome sports, all three are great. Michigan and Wisconsin rule in Football and Hockey. Illinois is awesome in Basketball.

In terms of campus life and cities, I think Ann Arbor and Madison are hard to beat...Urbana Champaign is not quite as nice, but it is still very pleasant. As some have mentioned, Madison is a little more casual and scenic, but Ann Arbor is more unique and charming. Both are among the top 10 places to live in the US.

If you get into all three, since they are similar in many regards (size, weather, location), I would probably recommend Michigan over Wisconsin and Wisconsin over Illinois...but that's just an opinion. You really should visit the three schools and make a personal decision...and like I said above, you CANNOT go wrong.

Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois. And this is coming from an Illinois alumnus.

^ who is now in Stanford :)
