Which is better for a Neuroscience Major?

Which is better for a Neuroscience Major?

Haverford
Bucknell University
Upenn
Allegheny College
Franklin & Marshall College
Carnegie Mellon University
Lehigh University

Thank you so much for your help ^.^

Penn has a cool program called BBB (Biological Basis of Behavior), which is pretty good. I think they have neuroscience too. Are you instate for PA? If so, I would add Pitt to the list - cheap, and a really great neuroscience program.

If you have Penn stats, also consider Amherst.

btw: the “best” program really depends on your interests. Neuro programs tend to be one of three types: computer-focused (UCLA), psych-focused; or bio-focused.

I’m more interested in psych focus neuroscience and I need to stay in DE or PA.

I’d add Muhlenberg to your list. They have a rather large neuroscience for such a small school. I went there for Brain Camp, a 1-week introduction to neuroscience program. It was funded by the Sentience foundation which also funds other programs in the neuroscience program.

if you are instate, Pitt is the no-brainer.

Plug for Wash U PNP: Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology.

^^WashU is kinda far afield from PA & De is it not, DJ?

For someone willing to travel, there a lot of great colleges. Boston College and BU to the north, and George Washington & Georgetown to the south. Even farther south, Duke and Emory are really strong in Psych, as is UVa.

btw: Carnegie Mellon has a comp sci-based program – all math/programming all the time.

Haha totally missed that. Interested to hear why OP needs to stay.

Definitely add UVA to the mix. They offer the Distinguished Majors Program for both Neuroscience and Cognitive Science, allowing you to graduate with honors and complete a senior thesis in your respective major.
