I have a job at a supermarket, but the max number of hours I can work is 25. I'm thinking of getting another job for the summer (and parts of the school year), but cannot decide whether to get an internship at Rockwell-Collins (a communications/aeronautics/defense company) or to just work at another supermarket.

Which looks better to colleges: me working two jobs or me working one job and doing an internship?

Take into account that I want to go to MIT or CalTech or a similarly selective, science-oriented college.

It depends on each individual case--you might be choosing between a really cool internship and a boring job, or vice versa.

But in your case, I would go with the internship, since you already have the job at a super market. Plus, the communications/aeronautics/defense co. sounds interesting.

Also, internship shows that you are doing something for free, most of the time. because you are passionate about it. At a job, you get paid for something boring.

iin, Are you in college now? I think internships are usually offered to college students (and are usually connected to their course of study), not HS. Internships are better for getting jobs after college (shows you can work in a business environment).
