Just wondering, does anyone know which is the best apartment building at Poly Canyon Village to stay at? Is there some better then others? My daughter, who is going to be a sophomore, would love a view of both the pool and plaza, if that’s even possible. We heard Aliso, Buena Vista and Inyo are all close to those areas, (and closer to the main campus itself) but we were just wondering if anybody had firsthand experience with any of them. Also, if anyone has any other information about PCV which would be helpful to a newbie at PCV, we would appreciate it! Thanks! :)

they all have their pros and cons… Aliso is the closest to most of the food places and is relatively close to one of the big parking structures as well.

My daughter mentioned Huasna being across from the pool and basketball courts, as well.

There’s really not much difference between any of them. Some of the buildings are smaller than others though. The front buildings (where you have a pool view and live on top of the eating areas) usually fill up first obviously. But the back buildings are not much further. Maybe a minute longer walk, which is like nothing.

How are they set up gender-wise? Guys and girls are on the same floor, I assume? Also, one of my daughter’s dorm mates ( a guy) didn’t apply by the deadline because he was going to live with some friends off campus. Apparently, it fell through and now he doesn’t know where he’s going to live. Do you think continuing sophomores will still be able to apply to PCV if there’s space? And how soon would they know if there’s a room open in an apt?

yes, guys and girls are on the same floor. it’s just separated by apartment (same with cerro vista). so you could have an apartment with girls and guys next door on both sides. I’m pretty sure that even though he didn’t apply by the deadline he should still be able to get a space. I know there are some vacancies this year and there were some last year too, so I’m pretty sure he’ll be fine. How soon would they know? I’m not really sure. It’s probably best to contact housing, but I’m guessing by early summer if not before then or even now.

One mid-summer, my sons off-campus rental fell through, so he immediately called campus housing. They let him know of spaces and he was able to get on the waiting list. Didnt hear what room hed be in until it was announced to everyone.
