I am currently a very confused junior in high school who wants to have some sort of idea about what major I should pursue.
So, I would either like to become an immunologist, pharmacist or dentist.
-What major(s) should I pursue for each of those three? (And what is the best major for medical/pharm/dentistry school?)
-Which major has a high demand?
-I know NOTHING is easy, but would would be the easiest science degree to major in?.. In order to become a dentist, pharmacist or immunologist.
Even though I’m not that great, I’ve had a passion for the sciences ever since I could remember (sounds cliche, I know).
But I would really appreciate your expertise on this!! Thank you!
If you want to go to medical school, your major doesn’t matter as long as you complete the prerequisites for med school alongside your major. I am of the impression that the same applies for dental and pharmacy schools as well.
I would honestly recommend you to major in something you are interested in. If that’s a science major, great! And like you said, none of the science degrees are easy to major in. In addition, many of them will have a large amount of overlap (especially the biological sciences like mol bio, biochem, bio, etc), so there’s no way to say that one is easier than the other.
You can always start off undeclared and take the general science prereqs that are pretty much required for nearly all science majors (eg gen chem, bio, and physics), then decide after a year or so.
tldr follow your passion and major in that.
