Is there a particular Ivy that others in the Ivy League bag on the most?

I think Cornell

Yeah, I'd say Cornell...or Brown, but probably Cornell (sorry Cornell)

From my experience... Cornell

I think Dartmouth - its the Ivy league party school. Or at least thats the reputation it seems to have. Cornell in terms of admissions - you're not going to get the same congrats for getting into Cornell as any other place because their admission rate is or was like 20%, whereas the other ones are largely slipping under the 10% line.

They're all very good, but I'd also say Cornell (and then Brown).

Cornell, in general.

seems like such a bizarre question and has been asked sooo many times on this site; each school everywhere has good and bad teachers and good and bad students (a certain graduate of Yale who recently left his job comes to mind). A school and education is what you make of it - sure it is wonderful to be surrounded by brilliant minds and stimulating conversation but Ivy leagues are not the sole venue for that. Do you really want to study ornithology or engineering at Harvard? What is the point of this question? Please explain why you have so much free time.

There is nothing I hate more than one group of college students looking down on another-it is arrogant and it is dumb. I hope the students accepted at all these amazing institutions show respect to everyone including those that go to hair-dressing school, auto mechanic school, or chef school. enough of status/it's ridiculous!

i don't think much free time is required to post that simple question...

It's not that it takes a lot of time; it's just obnoxious as some people are excited to try to display their superiority over others. To me, that shouldn't be a reason why you should want to go to any of the top schools - to make fun of others at very good schools because yours is considered better. Come on already.

Poor Cornell.... :(.

Personally, I would say Columbia.

What a stupid question.

Based on General Perspectives: Cornell. It's easy to look down on it. Founded after the Civil War started, no Latin motto, half-state school, 20% acceptance rate, etc. It's still a terrific place.

Based on Here: Columbia. I don't get it. It's a great place, but the Columbia boards are more or less the doldrums.

Wrongfully Looked Down Upon: Brown. Ignore the USNews Ranking. You do it for Reed College, anyway, don't you? Now tell me why it's bad.

I would say Cornell. At least the people I know attending Cornell are party monsters.

Dartmouth for me is more of a forgotten Ivy.

Saying that Cornell is "the most looked down upon" among Ivies doesn't necessarily reflect the way we all feel. It's just a reflection of the general feeling, which for me personally has no affect on whether or not I chose to apply.
Prestige, for me, has got absolutely NOTHING to do with it. I was just trying to answer what I supposed was a merely curious question. Since you can't possibly be aware of the OPs motives for asking this in the first place I'd hardly say you are in a position to deem them arrogant or dumb...

It's Columbia, going away: the only Ivy with enough really tall buildings full of people nearby from which the campus can be seen on clear days. Or maybe Princeton, based on some of the flight paths into and out of Newark.

What a dumb thread! Why don't we discuss which Muse is the sluttiest?

Horrible question... the "Ivy League" prestige as a group is an artificially created joke.

This is a really stupid question. I hate it when people ask about the "dumb Ivy's." Any Ivy League is better than 90% of schools. Asking which one is the worst is being pompous and really just gives the indication someone wants an Ivy only for the prestige.

I'm applying to Yale and Cornell. Why? because I like those two schools. I couldn't care less about the prestige (okay, I like prestige, but it's not a defining factor).

Cornell certainly has the least prestige (though Brown is ranked lower). Still, it's better than most colleges, you'll still get a kickass education, employers will still drool over you, and the average person will still feel impressed.

I've been watching college admissions for several years (through two children). I'm constantly amazed over the obsession with the Ivy League which, at the end of the day, is nothing but an athletic conference. I guess my family is blessed by living thousands of miles away from those who seem to obsess over an inferior athletic conference (go Pac-10!) without recognizing all the amazing colleges out there that happen not to claim membership to the Ivy League!
