I have a 3.8 gpa, TAP certified, PolySci major
my prereqs- I have worked part-time for a structural engineering firm just to make some money, have worked for a year as a free tutor for underprivileged low-income families, currently the Community Service Coordinator for the Honors Society at my college, a member of the Jerry brown campaign, and I have my own political blog updated daily.

my personal statement will be good.

also I am 17 years old, i passed the proficiency exam my sophomore year so i could attend a community college because i knew early on in my life that i would always major in political science

is there any possibility of me getting into in ucb, ucla, columbia, brown, nyu, cornell, and princeton?

You’re at a CCC? Good shot at UCLA and UCB, obviously. The Ivies are always tough, even more so for transfers, but Cornell is the most transfer friendly of the group. Honestly, though, there’s not much of a prestige difference between Berkeley and Cornell, and Berkeley is way cheaper.

I can’t really comment on Columbia, Brown, and NYU, but, IIRC, NYU is ranked around 30 by USNWR. UCLA is ranked higher (25 or 26), and UCSD is just a touch below at 35 or so. Unless you have a real reason you want to study at one of the out-of-state schools, I think you’d be better served by UC. The exception would be if you’re a contender for Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Princeton, etc., but because of how few transfers they admit, I don’t think those are in the cards for you.

Princeton doesn’t take transfers, but you do have a great app. Because of the transfer rates, though, it all depends on how you sell yourself. You won’t be the youngest applying, but your ECs are good.

Like Nick said, by pure statistics, Cornell is the easiest Ivy to get in. They have statistics on their website: http://dpb.cornell.edu/F_Undergraduate_Admissions.htm. I know Columbia admits about 10%, and they require the SAT. How are you doing on those scores? Also, you should be aware that Brown is need-aware for transfers, so your family’s income will affect your chances. I have no idea about NYU (but it’s not in the Ivy League).

By the way, do you happen to go to RCC? If so, I’m in your Econ 7H and English 1BH classes. :)
