Hey guys..i ve shortlisted these two..lenovo ibm thinkpad t-series lappy and the mac pro book..costs 1540$(lenovo) with all upgradation i need and around 2000$ for the macbook(upgraded)..which one shld i go for..

In my opinion, you should go with the macbook pro because they tend to be more reliable.

More reliable? What evidence do you have of that?

thinkpad!..biometric security!!!...but i think macs look better

yea..the Mac look is tempting me for it..but lenovo thinkpads are also excellent by performance..and reliable!!

when i go to college i think i'll go with the mac, even though i've used PCs my whole life. They look better, and their software is more reliable. PCs are better for gaming, if you're into that.

<<<More reliable? What evidence do you have of that?<<<

Come on, dude, haven't you seen the commercials? :P

hahah

well im getting to the point where i wanna try something besides an effing PC, they seem to be nice for a year then degrade quickly. Also, more viruses are programmed for PCs than Macs

As I type this on my MacBook Pro, I encourage you to get the MacBook pro! I ADORE this computer, everything works PERFECTLY, it is so fast and the graphics are truly incredible. I also tend to think the MacBook might be more compatible with UVA's systems because Cavalier Computers offers the MacBook (along with some Dells) but doesn't offer the ThinkPad...hmm.

All computers on the market today would be fine to use at UVA. There's nothing special about computers sold by CavComputers other than their overly inflated prices...

Cavalier302, do you have something against CavComputers? The computer that I purchased from Cavcomputers was actually cheaper than buying online and I found the people there to be very courteous and helpful.

Yea, I have a problem with the fact that my university sells computers for more than it should. I guarantee that you could have found a better deal if you'd shopped around a bit more. I got essentially the same dell lappy as what they were selling last year for $2000 - yet I paid around $900, thanks to a $750 off coupon that I found on notebookforums.com.

lol Cav Comp can **** **** *****. It's overpriced and the people are barely competent. That's basically the story of anything that UVA tries to sell.
