Which major/minor would best suit me?

<p>I would like a career in designing and building electronic devices such as PDAs, cellphones, gaming systems, computers, etc. It's my dream to work my way up to being in charge of big engineering projects for Microsoft, Apple, IBM, or Sony (I know it's high unlikely but I'd like to try). But I'm not sure which kind of major I would need. I would also like to minor in something to be more well-rounded.</p>

<p>Someone told me that the pay is bad because there are already millions of people in India who already do this. Were they joking or serious? Thanks</p>

<p>For the hardware, Electrical and/or Computer engineering? For software, I would recommend computer engineering or computer science. All three fields will open doors in those areas. </p>

<p>I think graduates of ECE are among the highest paid bachelors degree holders…</p>
