Currently, I am a sophomore French major. I came in with twenty-six credit hours and took nineteen hours during my first semester. I am minoring in Spanish.
If I keep on this track, I’ll graduate by May of 2017 - I will be twenty years old, which means I will be pretty young. I live in Louisiana and TOPS pays for my tuition for eight semesters, so I could go to grad school for a year and only pay for room/board and textbooks if I’m only doing my undergraduate classes for three years.
I’m thinking of double/triple majoring, however. I’m thinking of adding Spanish and German. If I add Spanish, it will almost certainly add another year, and if I add both, it will most certainly add two years. In other words, if I double major, I’ll be in college for four years and if I triple major, I’ll be in college for five years.
I plan on going to grad school either way, but my question is this: Is it even worth it for me to do multiple majors?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
