My junior year isn’t over yet, so I’m unsure of my current GPA. I’m unable to see it until junior year is over, but my GPA sophomore year was 3.7 UW and 3.9 W, though I suspect it’s gone up since I only got one B last semester, and currently have maintained all As this semester.
I took 3 APs this year and will take either 4 or 5 APs next year.
SAT 1290, but won’t submit this to some colleges.
I do have a film portfolio, but way more so fo screenplays.
Not all UGA kids attend UGA for free @tsbna44 . But the instate costs for attending UGA are surely less than OOS in CA.
But we don’t know whether @Clouds_t has the credentials to get accepted to UGA. Hoping he or she answers my questions above about GPA, SAT or ACT score…and film portfolio.
Agree with the previous posters. You would have to be self-supporting (paying market rental rates, no financial help/exchange from family/friends) with proof/documentation. In California, your expense receipts would have to match your tax returns. Hard to do, in California, when wages for a non-degreed employee wont match your California expenses. Rents alone will kill your paycheck. That doesn’t include utilities and transportation costs. Very expensive!
Run the Net Price Calculator for every school you look at, having an actual estimate of cost from the school is 1000 times better than assuming what is more or less expensive.
California publics will take your OOS fees anytime. They need the money.
Your transportation costs will also be huge. Include this in your college budget. Public transportation, in Southern California, is not good. That’s why our freeways are clogged. Just tell your parents you will need a car, or plan to spend A LOT on Uber.
Given that you plan on going into a very competitive major, you need to be frugal. Many students, who have previously graduated, at some time in these multimedia studies are still looking for work.
Isn’t it funny - everyone says CA is a train wreck…everyone is moving out. Yet, it’s still overcrowded and expensive - I mean, homes there could go 4 or 500K over list…it’s nuts. How any young person can graduate college and start a life in that state I don’t know.
