Hello, Currently SDSU and Cal Poly are my top choices. Graduating HS in 2014.
My SDSU gpa (grade 10-11) is 3.57.
Reletively difficult course load at public school. (Honors English, AP Euro, Physics, Pre Calc, 4 years of Spanish)
ACT English: 30 Math: 28 Composite: 29

EC's: 4 years varsity lacrosse, 2 years Varsity Basketball, Private Pilots license, Marin School of the Arts Film (2 years), cashier at a grocery store.
From Marin County California. Is it true that I have a lesser chance of getting in than people from SoCal?

The majors I am considering applying for are currently:
International Business
Journalism
Economics

I guess my questions are: which of the three is least impacted? How impacted are each of the three? Would I get in at each of the three majors? Thanks so much.

Which Cal Poly are you talking about?

It doesn’t matter if your from that county as long as you’re in California, your chances of getting into a CSU are still good.

You’re a lock to get into SDSU and Cal Poly.

In SDSU, all majors are impacted there, but although they are impacted I heard many stories from students there that were able to get all their classes regardless.

In Cal Poly Pomona, Economics is not impacted, Journalism is not impacted, and there’s no info for International Business.

In Cal Poly SLO all majors are impacted, but there’s no info on I.B…

You could get into these classes easily, you get accepted on the school first, you don’t get accepted based on your major I believe.

Cal Poly SLO and SDSU… Both make their admissions decisions by ranking you against the other applicants in the major you are applying for. My current concern is not with getting my classes (yet) but with actually getting into the school. I am not a lock for either, for SLO it is actually a bit of a reach. Do you know much about either of the schools? or just basing that response off of the CSU system as a whole?
