A question to the current/former students at UF: how are the dining halls? I was planning on just getting an unlimited meal plan but I want to eat healthily and I don't know if that is the best idea. Is there a variety of healthy food in the dining halls? And what about at the other campus food places?

Thanks,

there is variety, and you can eat healthy if you want.

but don’t do it. meal plans do not save you money vs going to the grocery store and eating out unless you’re going to actually eat there for every meal, every day for an entire year.

Okay. So you can get into the dining halls without actually buying a meal plan?

Yeah you can still get in without a meal plan.

Current UF students have voiced their opinion about it here if that helps:

DON’T DO IT! Get declining balance and eat Starbucks paninis every day if you have to, but DONT get a meal plan. I beg this of you.

Declining balance.

UF has a promotion going on right now that if you put $200 or above on your declining balance you’ll get an additional 10% and if you put anything under $200 on your declining balance you’ll get an additional 5%.
