Dear all, Our DS will be applying to BS as a rising 9th grader in Fall 2021. His grades are fine as are his ECs. But he really enjoys tennis and is quite good at it. Are there any New England schools that have particularly good tennis programs or may need to fill their Varisty or JV team? Really appreciate your input!
St Mark’s has a tennis program. He’d likely be varsity and their coach is a gem!

It is a smaller school, so you’d have to figure out what is going to fit him best. We, as a family, have found the smaller schools to be better for our personalities.
While it is small, it has very robust academics and offers a lot of programs academically that even some large schools do not. It definitely has a sense of community, though. And it has been perfect for DS.

All the schools will need to fill their rosters, so your son should be able to play at any school. I hope someone will chime in with the schools that have the strongest tennis programs, if that is what you are looking for. I know Millbrook, also a small school, has a very strong tennis program (and squash too). They frequently make it to the New England Championships (finals).
Thanks @cinnamon1212 and @buuzn03! Our DD is a rising 5th former in Choate so he has gotten used to the idea of a larger school, and she’s played on the thirds team there. That’s where we hope he gets in, but need to apply to some others as well.
DS will still be 13 when he starts 9th grade next year so unlikely to match the size and skills of the Varsity team, but should find a spot on a JV squad. Will keep you posted on how the apps progress…
