Which of these activities makes sense as an EC?

So I’m divided between what I should include for one of my extracurricular spots. My friends and I decided to start an entrepreneurship club during senior year, in which I take a leadership role, but I’m not sure if it’s good to boast in on a resume if we’ve yet to leave any impact. I can instead include my tutoring job, teaching one kid one subject for two years, or being in a school-wide mentorship program to help freshmen adjust socially, but no tutoring experience. Basically, should I include the most recent ambitious project personal self-employed tutorship, or school program for helping kids adjust (which many dozens can also include in their resume)

Which one means the most to you? It doesn’t matter what you do, it’s what you can say about how it has mattered to you. And even if you find you don’t want to continue with it, if you can express why you’ve come to that decision in a heartfelt way, your EC will have mattered.

There are lots of kids who have started clubs, even entrepreneurship clubs. Mentoring and tutoring are also very common, but there are some kids who will write essays about the same topic that will stand out among the others.

What counts is not the activity itself, but how you express your passion for it, what you’ve learned about yourself while doing it, blah blah blah.

Pretend you’re an adcom officer who has to read 1000 essays a week, all from high school kids who have relatively limited options in HS, and who are still learning about themselves. Most of what they read will probably look very similar to all the other essays.

I, and a lot of other parents here, have helped a lot of kids with their essays. As long as your essay doesn’t read like “run of the mill” drivel, it really does not matter what your activity was.

Unless, of course, your activity was qualifying for the Olympics while in HS, which might get you a recruited athlete hook…
