i already got accepted by stony brook, my counselor told me i will probably get into bu and u of rochester as well. i m not sure which one i should go for, which one is better for pre-med major? i am leaning toward rochester cuz i know they got top tier research program but i am not sure if the 40K tuition is worth the investment, btw im a new york resident so i pay only 4K for stony brook. any suggestions?

I would go to Stony Brook and save the money for medical school.

Stony Brook: just as good, and much cheaper. However, if you got in to U Rochester and were given guarantee that you'll get in to the med school, then Rochester is better.

I'd choose Stony Brook.

That said, avoid BU. They have serious grade deflation.

Besides, BU is freakin' massive.

There is no such thing as a 'premed major'. Premed is a set of courses that can be taken within ANY major. Please go the Premed forum and read the sticky threads at the top, they will tell you all about what it means to be premed, what to look for in a school, what factors are important in applying to med school, etc.
