I am a senior in highschool. I am going to have 4 college accounting classes done by the end of senior year. After I get out of highschool I got to take cost accounting, principles of financial accounting 2, intermediate accounting 1 and intermediate accounting 2 next year. which course(s) generally in your opinion is the hardest and the easiest?
They’re low level accounting courses I can’t imagine any of them are “hard” probably boring but I doubt they’ll be hard per se
Generally the two intermediate accounting courses are considered to be the “make or break” accounting courses. Of course a lot will depend on the student’s abilities and the professors.
My $.02 (as a long-time tax CPA) nothing is worse than cost accounting!
@Herokid11 have you actually taken any of these classes, or did you just decide they were “easy but boring?”
I hated cost accounting.
Intermediate accounting is the “weed” out course. If you get an A in both classes, depending on the college you are at plus other factors, you’ll have a chance of getting into a Big 4 accounting firm. Cost accounting entails a lot of details. It is just a matter of going thru the detail and still see the “big picture”.
