Which Prep books are best for these APs?

I honestly don't know and I don't know which source to trust. I've seen so may forums but I need a straightforward asnwer (PR, Barron's, Kaplan, Cliffs, etc.)

Please elaborate on the quality of the books (will they help throughout the year? practice tests? essays?) At the end of the day (or May), I would like a 5 on each! Thanks :D

AP English Literature
AP Biology
AP European History
AP U.S. Government
AP Comparative Government
AP French Language

For AP Biology, I would definitely recommend buying the most updated edition of Cliff’s. The information in the Cliff’s study guide is very concise and follows the outline of the Campbell-Reece textbook pretty well. I have been using Cliff’s to study for tests in class and I have been getting at least a B without having to read through the entire corresponding chapter(s) in my textbook. The one thing I don’t like about Cliff’s is that the diagrams are sometimes difficult to interpret, so I would recommend your textbook for that.

I took the ap bio exam last year, and personally I would say that the barron’s ap biology book was an excellent source. The practice tests had very good explanations, and there was a great chapter on how to tackle the essays.

^If you don’t mind answering, what did you get on the AP Bio Exam?

AP Comparative Gov. – Wood’s guide is the best one. [Amazon.com: AP Comparative Government and Politics: A Study Guide, 3rd edition (9780974348131): Ethel Wood: Books: Reviews, Prices & more](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0974348139?tag=openlibr-20)

AP Euro – Crash Course, Princeton Review, Viault’s Modern European History
[Amazon.com: Modern European History (0639785401056): Birdsall Viault: Books: Reviews, Prices & more](http://www.amazon.com/Modern-European-History-Birdsall-Viault/dp/0070674531/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1289161266&sr=1-1)

AP French – I self-studied from REA, and then supplemented it with Barron’s. REA gets a lot of negative feedback on here, though. Also, try French Four Years (golden IF you have an answer key; it doesn’t come with one): [Amazon.com: French 4 Years: with AP Component (French Edition) (9781567653328): Francoise Shen: Books](http://www.amazon.com/French-Years-AP-Component/dp/1567653324/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1289161361&sr=1-1)
However, going through the entirety of Une Fois Pour Toutes a week or two before the AP will suffice just as well as the prior method: [Amazon.com: Une Fois Pour Toutes: Une Revision Des Structures Essentielles De La Langue Francaise (French Edition) [Hardcover]](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0133611205/ref=cm_rdp_product)

Good luck!

I also recommend Cliffs for Bio, it really helped me. Most of my friends were also using Cliffs, but there was one who had the Barron’s and it just seemed so long and full of unnecessary information…

Nobody has a recommendation for AP Lit?

AP English Literature- ?

AP Biology- CliffNotes (it’s good despite being Cliff’s Notes, my school even uses it along Campbell as a textbook)

AP European History- AP Euro Crash Course (if you’re looking for a quick overview outline) and Modern European History (for a full encyclopedia type book)

AP U.S. Government- PR (though a teacher at my school insists Barron’s)

AP Comparative Government- Ethel Woods study guide

AP French Language- Google Translator
