We really should stay at the Bates shouldn’t we? The problem is no a/c. I feel bad not staying there though. We’re not able to stay through the picnic - plan on leaving Wednesday. How about you?

Move in on 19th, staying through picnic, leaving Saturday. Will take this over to FB page now. :-j

Thank you, Puma, and all others, for your thoughtful replies. This is such a journey. CC has been so helpful to me as I try to help navigate these new waters. By the way, she did actually get the acceptance in writing, so, yay! It is a great relief to have CCM in hand, and I think that will help with the nerves for auditions yet to come. (My nerves, not hers. My daughter is calm as can be!)

All the best with your journey YardleySisa it can be quite the ride, but you’re off to a great start. Congratulations to your d.

I’m not sure that “prestige” is as important as fit. I’d suggest a visit to CCM to see how your daughter connects with the students, faculty, and environment.

Like glassharmonica, I’d say the same thing - fit is extremely important. By almost all accounts on cc, my D is not attending a “prestigious” school although she was accepted to several that seem to be considered “better” on cc. But she was very decisive in her choice of UArts and has stated emphatically that she will not change her mind even if she were to get into one of her “top” schools. The fit is ideal for her so I can’t second guess her decision.

@YardleySisa… I live in Bucks Co PA, and in the summer I am in Yardley with my son for his camp. We could have lunch?

dramamom0804, what a small world it is. I would love that. Are you around in August as well? I think I should private message you (if I can figure out how to do that). :-)

Does CCM look at grades/SAT/ACT or is it mostly audition based for acceptance

CCM is almost ALL about the audition! There are only three non major requirements scattered throughout the four years, so they really don’t care a bunch about scores and grades. That said, if I remember correctly, UC has a minimum GPA they suggest for applying. I want to say 1.8 GPA?
