Hello rising seniors, only one more year to go! :D I was thinking of applying to Smith, Occidental, UCSB, Penn State, Bates, URichmond and UConn. I'm not even sure I would definitely get into most of these schools given my uw gpa is ~3.5 and 2200+ SAT. What are your safety schools?

Remember, your safety school(s) must be affordable.

Well, the cost isn’t am issue for me.

*an. Just need to make sure I could get in. (:

I’m sorry that I am not responding to your question (I am a parent, anyway), but I was under the impression that Smith and U of Richmond were nearly polar opposites. I do not understand how they could both show up on the same short list.

Ohio State. I don’t necessary consider it a last resort kind of safety, but it’s the only one I’m sure I’ll get into.

@austinareadad You’re right, URichmond would be my last resort if I don’t get into any of the other schools. Smith is one of my top choices, so if I get in I would be immensely happy.

UMD. It’s my state school and although my GPA isn’t too high (~3.5), I’m pretty sure I can get in. I’m definitely applying there although both me and my parents would like me to go out of state. It would be a last resort.

iSabrina - Just want to say that my DS is entering UCONN in the fall for Mech Eng. He got in OOS with a 3.36 and 1980 SAT. He did attend their summer program for High school students called Exploring Engineering and he did let them know that UCONN was his top choice (maybe that tipped the scales a little. who knows!).

Good luck!

@ConfusedMominMA Thank you for the input. I think I should be able to put UConn as a safety now.
