I'm in a predicament right now because I didn't do so well on my SAT IIs in June. I got an ok score for Math 2 (780) but then I got a 680 in French and 700 in Physics. Because I'm taking IB and not AP, I don't finish Chemistry, or World History until the end of my senior year (2007-2008). I did get an 800 on the Chinese SAT, but then again I'm Chinese...

I'll definitely be taking the Chemistry SAT in November, but I don't know which other subjects to take. I took AP US my sophomore year and got a 5, but I don't think I've remembered enough to get a good score on the US History SAT. I don't take Biology until next year, so that's out of the question. I was thinking about re-taking physics or maybe taking Literature.

Um, in case I wasn't too clear, I'd like some advice on which SAT subject tests to take in November. I'm thinking about applying to some Ivy Leagues.

The most any school requires is 3 tests-a lot only require two. Since you have an excellent math score (780) and perfect Chinese score, I would recommend taking only one more (for the sake of time and money). You have 3 months until the next test date (Oct. 6), get a review book and take whichever one you feel will be easier.

Also note, though, that because schools will see all your scores, you may want to improve French and Physics and not take any new SAT II's.

I have another question now; if I get a good score on the IB exam for French, and a good score on the AP physics exam, should I reconsider retaking the French and physics SAT?

A good IB/AP score usually makes up for a relativly low SAT II score in the same subject. But that might not work with the Ivies, so u probably wouldn't hurt urself by retaking the SAT IIs.

780 is perfectly fine for anywhere. 800 Chinese is great but all Chinese ace that. You can try and take another if you want but its not really necessary.
