I haven't taken any SAT Subject Tests. Some colleges where I want to apply require 2 SAT Subject tests. The June SAT is the last one that is being conducted in my country; that means I have one month to prepare for it AND the SAT reasoning test. The next SAT subject test is in 2015 Jan.

Which 2 sat subject tests can be prepped in the least time and effort?

Math 1 or 2 and maybe biology if you are strong in that subject

@desie1 I dropped Biology in school. So, I have only the Biology info till 10th grade level. What is the difficulty of the biology test? Is it doable if not done in high school Junior/Senior year?

It’s mostly memorization - but you need at least one strong year of bio to do well. Chem and Physics are pretty difficult. I’m not sure what country you live in, but in the US, the subject tests are given again in October and November. Maybe you can take it out of your country? It would be a shame to rush studying (in one month) and then do badly.

I’d take one of the maths, literature, and a history.

@desie1 I know right? SAT Reasoning is more important and studying for subject tests will influence my SAT I prep.

I just checked, the June SATs are the only ones left for ALL countries except the US. Travelling to the US means spending tens of thousands of dollars :/

Maybe its better to concentrate on scoring good in SAT I and applying to only those colleges which don’t require SAT IIs than half-assing everything and scoring bad.

What do you guys think?

Yes, your SAT will count more than the subject tests. (but grades and course selection count the most!) Also, if you take the ACT many schools don’t require any subject tests at all.

physics is really easy

I’ve heard Lit is exactly like the SAT Reading or an AP English exam, just with strict time constraints. I’d take that one, at least. I’m sorry I didn’t; probably would have made an easy 800.

i am in same situation what i am doing is that taking chem phys and maths 2 in june
i dont have anything else to do except for regretting that i lost my one year for my idiotic decisions and studying for sat subjects but apart from that i prefer that all of these, as mentioned above, can be done together in a month if u have studied atleast 50 % of each subject, mentioned above, each year off the 4 years of high school.
what the real deal is that you have to try your arse off

I’d say that if you have taken the classes for physics, Math 2 (precalc or some related class), and are good at reading and comprension, the literature test, then you should be fine with a month to prep. I took pre-calc last year and physics this year, and so far, the material I am reviewing seems fairly easy. I think that as long as you have a decent background in one of the tests, a month would be decent amount of prep time, provided that you spend a fair amount of time studying as needed. I wish you the best!

Op,
I’m not sure how it works in your country, but in the US, test takers cannot take the SAT1 (reasoning) and the SAT2s (subjects) on the same day. The times overlap so you can only sign up for SAT1 OR SAT2s but not both.
