Which SAT Subject tests to take

I'm in IB Bio HL as a junior; does that curriculum (combined with IB Bio SL from last year) correlate at all to what will be on the subject test?

Additionally, I'm in Spanish 5 this year (Spanish HL), so should I test in Spanish as a subject test?

These two subjects (Bio and Spanish) are ones I have always felt very strong in. I could take a history subect test too, but I am worried that IB history (History of the Americas & 20th Century) are too different from the AP courses that subject tests are based off of.

I have not always considered myself to be a strong math student but I am doing just fine in AP calculus this year. Should I test math II?

Help!
All input welcome.
Thank you!

Your background indicates taking bio and Spanish would be fine as well as even math 2, but you should not assume you have no need to get usual SAT practice test amterials for those subjects because they train you for the process and structure of the test and may cover some things you have not had (or forget).

Note that you need to check with particular colleges you may be applying to to see what is actually required because, for example, you may need that math 2 and bio to even be able to apply for an engineering or possibly science major, and math could be required for others such as bussiness or even other majors.

Get at least 2 practice books for each test from different companies, such as Princeton Review and Kaplan or Barron’s and Princeton Review.

You should do the Biology and Spanish, the Biology is pretty basic stuff that would be covered in a junior course. Get a practice book or test to be sure. I took the Spanish, it is easy, take it.
I also took the World history, it asks a lot of questions about Asia and the Middle East (both modern and ancient), so if you are foggy in those areas, as a lot of students who do not take the history courses they want seem to be, don’t take it unless you are prepared to do a whole lot of studying.
Find and take a practice test for math 2 to see how you do. A lot of students (including me) get good grades in math classes but do badly on math standardized tests.

How did you do on the regular SAT ? The Math II is supposed to be easier to get an 800 on than the regular one. Take a practice test. I don’t think you need AP Calc to do well.

You should look at the schools you are thinking of applying to before deciding. Most all of the places I’ve seen require math and science. So I’d skip the history and spanish and take Bio and either Math I or Math II.

Spanish SAT is going to be pretty difficult. Def take Math 2 its easier to get an 800 in. The Bio sat might also be good for you as well! If you are taking AP bio now, i would register for the June SAT right after AP’s (or IB’s? not sure when IB testing is) and the studying carries over.

Coincidentally those are the two SAT’s I took last year. I’m planning on taking Chem at the end of this year (taking AP Chem now) is that an option for you?
