For October 2013, D received a CR 760, CM 680 and CW 730 with a 76 MC and 8 essay. This October D received a CR 710, CM 720 and CW 730 with a 78 MC and 7 essay. Which should we send for the qualifying SAT score to NMSC??

Those scores are good enough to get in just about anywhere (except maybe ivy league) so I assume you are trying to go for scholarships. If this is the case I say send them both scores. Many schools now superscore, meaning they mix and match from different test administrations to give you your best possible total score. Super scoring puts your daughter over 2200 which will be very very competitive for merit scholarships at many schools. Good luck!

Actually those scores are even in the ballpark for ivys but it is hard to tell what they are going to do. They might take a 2100 kid and deny 3 perfect score kids. There is some controversy over who they are taking and who they are not. My son got a 2280 and did get a letter from Harvard inviting him to apply, but we made just enough money to not qualify for much money. Plus he wasn’t interested in that scene. We chose not to apply. He is a happy Freshman on full ride at Baylor in Texas which was a good fit for him.

It doesn’t matter which one you send or if you send both. For the purposes of qualifying for NMF either works. If you are hoping for one of the NMSC $2500 scholarships, those scores are pretty equivalent. I don’t know if that score is high enough for one of the scholarships or not, but to have a shot at that money have to have excellent list of activities/awards.

Well I had her send both and we figure NMSC will sort it out. She does have awards but no 2300+ SAT so who knows. We are hoping for corporate anyhow as it would actually be more $ in the long run. We do know one girl from two years ago who received the one time award and she had the super high SAT but not many awards or activities. Makes me think it is a numbers thing.

I think I read this wrong. I was responding with admissions and scholarships in mind not NM. Sorry…

No worries! Thanks for the input.I just sent them both in and hopefully NMSC will figure out the best set.
