Both scores are considerably higher than what is considered a confirming score (in past years a score of 1960 was adequate to confirm the PSAT score). There is no need to send both.

You’re good with either one, really… those are a lot higher than whatever the cutoff will be this year. It’s inconsequential whether or not you send the “better” one, seeing as they only use your SAT score to confirm that your PSAT score wasn’t a fluke.

Why are you worrying about which is safe. BOTH ARE HIGH ENOUGH!!!

there is no better in this case. NMCorp doesn’t give a rat’s patootie once you’re over the minimum score.

You only need to be over 2000 to be certain to be high enough. **Your PSAT score is irrelevant at this point. You are not expected to match your PSAT…the “qualifying score” does NOT mean THAT.

**Often a 1960 is high enough, but a 2000 is always high enough. Lower numbers like that are the qualifying scores. Your PSAT is irrelevant.

Sending one score or sending both scores will not make a bit of difference whatsover. **So, send both - just in case a Corporate Scholarship is offered because of a high SAT score or other issue. **.

Hey guys, I know this forum is quite old, but I thought you may have an answer to this question.

I sent my SAT scores to NMSC today but I accidentally sent both of my subject test scores too and one of them is pretty bad (560 in Lit.). Do you think this will affect my chance of becoming a finalist? Does NMSC even look at subject tests?

Hi All, I am a newbie. I have read some postings on the forum, and got great info that the school counseling office doesn’t bother to tell us. First of all, I would like to THANK you ALL GREAT PARENTS who are so willing to share your experience with us. Your time and info are greatly appreciated!

Speaking of the National Merit, I just found out from you great parents here that I will have to send in SAT score, I thought by taking the test, the score will be reported automatically. THANKS, if I don’t read your info here, my child would have missed out the chance of being in the finalist. So, do we use the same procedure to report SAT score to colleges to send result to NMC? What is the deadline to do so? Is this year’s cutoff score still around 1960s? I know parents said 2000 is high enough, but I am so worry that my child’s score is too low.
