Which Schedule: full year of study hall or just one semester

my current schedule for next year as a junior (options):
AP Calculus AB
AP Chemistry
AP US History
AP Seminar
Medical Interventions
(1 sem)AP Psychology/(2 sem)Speech
Study Hall (year long)

OR

AP Calculus AB
AP Chemistry
AP US History
AP Seminar
Medical Interventions
(1 sem)AP Psychology/(2 sem)Speech
Study Hall / YA LIT

I thought it would be nice to take a lit course just bc ap seminar is so writing intensive

I’m not that familiar with AP Seminar, so I can’t really argue much regarding that. Is it possible to drop Spech and replace with Lit? Does AP Seminar count as English? It’s really important for college to have 4 full credits in English.

Having a study hall is SO helpful, especially with a lot of AP classes. It’s your time to make up work, get extra help, do your homework, and even have a break! I feel like everyone should have a full-year study hall (even though many on this website don’t end up doing so), and it won’t make your schedule any less challenging.

Study Hall yaer long is OK but… have you already reached level 3 or 4 in foreign language?

Where is your foreign language class?

Neither of my kids have ever had a study hall. Unless you are short on homework time in the evenings, I’d take some course other than a study hall.

Five AP is plenty, so take something you’re interested in. Though I agree at least 3 years of a foreign language should be there.
